Brian Buscher.........Clinton Hart

Major-league infielder Brian Buscher spent two of his formative years manning third base for the Central Florida Patriots. The Jacksonville native went on to play two solid seasons at the University of South Carolina, further establishing himself as a high-level prospect. The San Francisco Giants selected Buscher in the third round of the 2003 MLB Draft, and he spent four years in their system before getting his chance with the Minnesota Twins via the Rule 5 Draft. Buscher appeared in 164 major-league games for the Twins over the next three seasons. In 2010, Buscher accepted a minor-league contract with the Cleveland Indians.

NFL defensive back Clinton Hart played two seasons of baseball for the Central Florida Patriots prior to starting his successful professional football career. A standout baseball player who was selected in the 2000 MLB Draft, Hart instead pursued football after his time at CF, signing with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2002. In 2004, he was picked up by the San Diego Chargers, where he spent six seasons as a regular starter in the Chargers' secondary, highlighted by a 2007 season that saw Hart record 5 interceptions and 68 total tackles. The Ocala resident finished the 2009 season with the St. Louis Rams.
