Bob Zelinski - Director of Athletics

Bob ZelinskiBob Zelinski was named Director of Athletics and Intramurals at College of Central Florida in September of 1999. He was named as Director of Wellness Education, Athletics, and Intramurals in July of 2001.

Zelinski has more than 20 years of athletic and administrative experience in developing and directing educational, athletic, community, and intramural programs. He has directed the Florida Community College Activities Association Baseball Championship for 10 years, served as tournament director for three FCCAA Volleyball Championships, directed two National Junior College Swimming and Diving Championships, and served as Associate Director of 14 NJCAA National Volleyball Championships. He has created very successful wellness education programs and employee wellness programs.

Zelinski currently serves as the National Junior College Athletic Association Region VIII Director for Men and as the FCCAA Men’s Athletic Commissioner. He serves on the Executive Committee for the Council for Athletic Affairs and is a member of the FCCAA Executive Committee. Zelinski’s service also extends nationally as he serves on the NJCAA National Baseball and Men’s Basketball Committee and is Chair of the National Men’s Tennis Committee. He is also a member of the NJCAA Strategic Planning Sub-Committee on Division Re-structuring, and the NJCAA Eligibility Committee.

Zelinski came to CF from Miami-Dade Community College where he served as Chairperson of the Department of Health, Wellness, Physical Education, and Athletics. He created and extensive wellness program for faculty and staff, developed educational curriculum, and developed facilities for the improvement of teaching and learning in health and wellness.

Zelinski has received numerous honors for his contributions to Florida Community College Athletics. He was inducted into the FCCAA Hall of Fame, presented an appreciation award by the FCCAA Baseball Coaches and has been recognized by many groups and organizations for his leadership and devotion to community college students.

Zelinski earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Florida Atlantic University and his Master of Science Degree at Nova Southeastern University in Educational Administration. He is married to the former Donna Riley of Little Falls, New York and the couple have two children, Korin and Kit.
