Drafting and Design Technology - Mechanical

The Drafting and Design Technology program prepares students for employment as mechanical drafters/ designers or provides supplemental training for those previously or currently employed in these occupations. The program provides instruction in drafting office practices to assist in preparation of engineering plans, layouts and detailed drawings, preparation of charts, graphs and diagrams, and the use of mechanical handbooks applicable to industrial design and drafting. Emphasis is given to computer-aided drafting
and design through a variety of CADD courses and relevant laboratory work. The program also includes communication skills, leadership skills, and mathematical skills.
Base Salary Range for Degree Recipients: $9.92/hour–$13.87/hour depending on specialization.
Percentage of Degree Recipients Placed in Jobs Within Their Field: 100%.
