Early Childhood Education

The Child Development and Education program is designed to prepare individuals for employment in the early childhood field. This program combines theoretical, practical and supportive courses. Students will practice acceptable early childhood techniques with children in the on-campus laboratory preschool. With careful planning, A.S. degree candidates may also complete sufficient additional hours to qualify for the Associate in Arts degree. To comply with Florida law, Chapter 402.3055, each prospective student must be fingerprinted and undergo a criminal background check, reference check and tuberculosis test. The information received is confidential and is required to determine the prospective student's eligibility to work with children.
