Postsecondary Adult Vocational Certificate Program in
Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and Heating Technology(45 Vocational Credit Hours)CFCC PROGRAM CODE: 7262 The purpose of this program is to prepare students for employment as air conditioning, heating and refrigeration technicians, air conditioning technicians, air conditioning and heating installer-servicers, air conditioning and heating technicians, air conditioning and heating helpers, refrigeration technicians, refrigeration technician helpers, or to provide supplemental training for persons previously or currently employed in these occupations. The content of the program includes, but is not limited to: communication skills, leadership skills; human relations and employability skills; safe and efficient work practices; planning, installation, testing and servicing of air conditioning, refrigeration and heating systems and components; servicing, installing and trouble-shooting electrical and mechanical components; proper refrigerant recovery and handling skills; testing, diagramming and solving problems in air conditioning, refrigeration and heating equipment; record keeping, basic supervisory skills; use and care of hand tools, power tools, specialized tools and equipment; use of current industry standards, practices and techniques.
