AdministrationDr. James D. Henningsen assumed the presidency of the college on Jan. 1, 2012. Dr. James D. Harvey was interim president from July 1, 2011 to Jan. 1, 2012. Dr. Charles R. Dassance held the presidency of the college from Nov. 11, 1996, until June 30, 2011, and was named president emeritus upon his retirement. Dr. James H. Hinson Jr. was interim president from Feb. 18 to Nov. 9, 1996. Dr. William J. Campion held the presidency from March 1, 1987, until Feb. 16, 1996, succeeding Dr. Henry E. Goodlett, who in January 1966 replaced Dr. Joseph W. Fordyce, appointed in May of 1960. The District Board of Trustees named Goodlett president emeritus upon his retirement. Charles H. Hamblen Jr. served as acting president between the resignation of Dr. Kenneth R. Williams in early 1960 and the appointment of Fordyce. Williams had assumed his duties on Jan. 1, 1958, soon after the Florida Legislature established the college in 1957. College operations are governed by the College of Central Florida District Board of Trustees. Members of this board are appointed by Florida’s governor and confirmed by the Florida Senate. The chief administrative officer of the college is the president, who also serves as secretary to the District Board of Trustees. |
