The physiological, sociocultural, spiritual, and psychological needs of healthy elders, as well as persons in long-term care are explored. The acute and chronic diseases and disorders of the elderly are discussed. This class is the foundation for first-semester clinical experience in long-term care agencies. (2 contact hours per week)
