Executive Board Meeting Minutes
March 4, 2005

Present: Mac Dismuke, Dan Figler, Deanna Stentiford, Jamie Schofield, Sunny Baynard, Kimberly Smith, Barbara Graves, Jerone Gamble, Carole Bartholomew, Edith Ramlow
Mac Dismuke started the meeting off with an interactive exercise. Each board member was to list one true and one false personal detail for others to guess.
Mac Dismuke went over the draft version of the calendar for 2005-2006.
Kimberly Smith will send out an email to solicit volunteers for CPEC Appreciation Breakfast clean-up.
Kimberly Smith will send out a broadcast for a FACC volunteer to participate as an auditor in the M/M CFCC.
Kimberly Smith, Carole Bartholomew, and Deanna Stentiford came up with a St. Patrick’s Day theme for the next chapter meeting on March 17, 2005. We will raffle off an Irish Lotto Tree to the winner as our drawing for the meeting.
Jerone Gamble mentioned that an FACC announcement should be made in the next convocation with an explanation of how FACC can be a way to voice opinions to the state for community colleges. Edith talked about extending membership opportunities to adjunct, part-time, and students. Deanna Stentiford mentioned how we could explain the benefits of FACC and how it would help faculty issues in orientations on the Ocala and Citrus Campuses. She also proposed that FACC lower the dues for members who make less than $20,000 a year. Kimberly Smith talked about relaying the issues to all the members that FACC supported last year and if they were successful. Barbara Graves thought we should tell people how FACC is beneficial in the community as well and use the example of the assistance we provided with the hurricanes last year. Carole Bartholomew added that she would include FACC benefits in the new employee letters.
Kimberly Smith pointed out that we will be able to contribute to the endowed scholarship fund through the Annual Fund Gift’s Campaign. She also mentioned manning tables throughout the year on campus that would provide information about FACC. Jamie Schofield mentioned that she would contact the Click Fashion Photography and organize the glamour shots fundraiser for the fall again. She also mentioned that we should include students in the effort to raise more money. Dan Figler and Barbara Graves talked about giving away holiday specific gift certificates as part of the chapter meeting drawings as well as keeping the 50/50 split. Carole Bartholomew proposed that we should advertise that all donations go to both scholarships and the chapter, which more people might be apt to donate. Dan Figler and Deanna Stentiford mentioned setting up a table to sell the Valentine’s Day chocolate roses and giving group discounts for 5 or more roses purchased together. They also mentioned raffling off a Mother’s Day basket at one of the chapter meetings.
Mac Dismuke discussed the website and the updates that he provided for everyone to review. He added the workshop information and 2005-2006 calendars. Carole Bartholomew mentioned that the FACC discounts and benefits would be on the CFCC website as well.
Mac Dismuke, Dan Figler, and Carole Bartholomew are going to meet and review the bylaws for the year 2005-2006.
Jerone Gamble and Carole Bartholomew are going to meet to discuss the newsletter and ideas for content and layout. Barbara Graves is going to be in charge of the distribution.
Mac Dismuke talked about the board members getting together towards the end of May for a scrapbook party to create and organize.
Mac Dismuke proposed the idea of thank you letters and if we should start writing them to FACC members. The rest of the board thought it should be left up to the President to decide.
Carole Bartholomew and Jerone Gamble, were the winners of the travel cooler door prizes provided by Mac Dismuke.
