2011-2012 Officer Installation Luncheon

Lunch was served beginning at 11:30am.
Rob Wolf called the meeting to order at 12:00pm and welcomed everyone to the meeting.
As there was no official business to conduct and no announcements for the good of the order, Rob took the opportunity to thank the 2010-2011 executive board and all AFC members for their hard work and dedication during the previous year. Membership has increased by 50%, with more than 70% of the college’s employees participating in AFC. Many retirees responded to our membership drive by becoming lifetime members of AFC. AFC was able to respond to the many Legislative challenges that took place this year, and will continue to do so. Fundraising for our chapter was a success, with the chapter raising close to $2,000.00 through various sales and events.
Rob Wolf also took a moment to thank Dr. Dassance for his dedication to and continued support of AFC.
2010-2011 Awards
Rob Wolf and Tracy Dobbins presented the following AFC awards:
- AFC Green Award – Tommy Morelock
- AFC Faculty Award – Dennis Radice
- AFC Volunteer Award – Laverne Hunt, Horticulture
- AFC Board Member Award – Tracy Dobbins
- AFC Unsung Hero Award – Kimberley Smith
2011-2012 Officer Installation
Dr. Dassance installed the following AFC members as officers for 2011-2012:
President – Marnie Baird
President-elect – Kat Wade
Vice President – Tracy Dobbins
Secretary – Shana Miller
Treasurer – Susan Dagg
Levy Representative – Joan Luebbe
Activities Chair – Susan Murphy
Membership Chair – Marjorie McGee
Historian – Debbie Cook
Closing Remarks
Marnie Baird announced that Connie Tice has agreed to serve as the Citrus Representative for our chapter. She encouraged AFC members to focus on the positives during these difficult economic and legislative times, and to continue their efforts to increase enrollment and involvement in AFC in the coming year. Outreach to faculty and staff at the Citrus and Hampton campuses, the Levy Center and the Appleton Museum of Art will be an additional focus for our chapter during the coming year.
