SUMMARY:2022 Best of the Season Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:The Webber Gallery presents the “2022 Best of the Season” Exhibition\, a collection of work from artists across Central Florida. Submissions will be juried by judge Ginger Sheridan\, who will determine what artwork is accepted into the show and award Best in Show\, First Place\, Second Place\, Third Place\, Fourth Place and Honorable Mentions. Awards and prizes will be presented at the opening reception. \nThe exhibition will open on Monday\, Nov. 7\, and be on view through Thursday\, Dec. 8. The community is invited to a free opening reception on Friday\, Nov. 18 from 5-7 p.m. \nThe Webber Gallery is located at the CF Ocala Campus\, 3001 S.W. College Road. Hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Thursday\, and admission is free. For more information\, call 352-854-2322\, ext. 1664.

SUMMARY:A Talk with Poet and Fiction Writer Dr. Jeffrey Newberry
DESCRIPTION:CF Students with a passion for creative writing are encouraged to join Floridian essayist\, fiction writer\, and poet Dr. Jeffrey Newberry\, hosting a talk on the Ocala Campus. It will take place Wednesday\, Nov. 16\, 12:30-1:45 p.m. in Building 8\, Room 110. \nA few of his own works include the novel “A Stairway to the Sea” (Pulpwood Press)\, the poetry collections “Brackish” (Aldrich Press) and “A Visible Sign” (Finishing Line). He has worked alongside fellow Gulf Coast native Brent House\, to co-edit the anthology “The Gulf Stream: Poems of the Gulf Coast” (Snake Nation Press). \nNewberry’s writing has been extensively acknowledged in a variety of journals\, including The American Journal of Poetry\, Connotations\, Florida Review\, Crab Orchard Review\, The Cortland Review\, North American Review\, and Memorious\, just to name a few. He is also a book reviewer for The Florida Review and other publications. \nHe has served on the faculty of the prestigious Sanibel Island Writers Conference and given talks and led panels at the Association of Writers and Writing Programs Conference\, the Florida Literary Arts Coalition’s Other Words Conference\, the Southeastern Writers Association Conference and the Gulf Coast Association of Creative Writing Teachers Conference and many more. \nNewberry’s earned his A.A. from Florida Gulf Coast State College and his B.A. and M.A. in English from the University of West Florida in Pensacola\, where as a graduate student he served as the managing editor of Panhandler. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Georgia\, now teaching in the Writing and Communication program at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton\, Georgia. \nDon’t miss out on a wonderful\, accredited writer such as Dr. Jeffrey Newberry visiting our Ocala Campus!

DESCRIPTION:Join the CF Student Activities Board for the annual International Food Festival on Wednesday\, Nov. 16\, from 12:30-1:45 p.m. in the Klein Conference Center. Enjoy lunch for $1 or with the donation of shelf-stable food for the Patriot Pantry. Event attendees will get to sample foods from around the world! \nCF student clubs and organizations choose a country to represent and provide food and displays about their chosen country. The event (food and display) will be judged by a panel and there will also be a “popular” vote.
