SUMMARY:“Science in the Colonial Period” Patriot Project Lecture
DESCRIPTION:Did you know the word “science” used to mean something else? Learn more about the “Natural Philosophers” of the Colonial period\, including Ben Franklin\, at “Science in the Colonial Period” on Monday\, Feb. 6\, 12:30-1:30 p.m. in the Webber Center. Mark Taylor\, assistant professor of physical sciences\, will dig into the history of science in America and its early contributors.  \nThe Patriot Project takes a deep dive into the history of the 17th and 18th centuries\, expanding on the new state civics initiative to invite students\, staff and the community to a monthly lecture series. Lectures are free and open to the public and light refreshments and event giveaways are provided. \nThe Patriot Project was developed by Dr. Sarah Satterfield\, CF professor of music\, with funding provided through a CF Foundation New Initiative Grant.
