SUMMARY:The Gap Between Art and Life Biennial Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:The College of Central Florida Webber Gallery presents “The Gap Between Art and Life Biennial Exhibition” Sept. 2-Oct. 6. This biannual competitive exhibition will display jury panel selected installation art. Out of 97 submissions\, eight various artworks by artists from across the southeastern United States were chosen for this exhibition.  \nThe chosen installations will allow visitors to interact with the gallery space in new and unique ways. The jury panel consisted of Leslie Hammond\, president of Artistic Eye Fine Art Services\, and Victoria Billig\, assistant director of the Appleton Museum of Art. \nGallery hours are Monday through Thursday\, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The gallery is closed Fridays\, Saturdays\, Sundays and college observed holidays. For more information call 352-854-2322\, ext. 1552. \nThe public is invited to the opening reception on Thursday\, Sept. 11 from 4-6 p.m. The exhibition and reception are free.

SUMMARY:When I'm 64 Anniversary Season Kickoff Celebration
DESCRIPTION:This event starts with Beatles karaoke at 6:30 p.m. followed by a screening of “A Hard Day’s Night” starting at sundown. Families are encouraged to bring law chairs or a blanket and celebrate the 64th anniversary of one of the longest running college film series in the U.S.  \nThe College of Central Florida’s Ira Holmes International Film Series presents a full season of films\, film talks and special events. \nAll films will be shown Tuesdays at 2 p.m. at the Appleton Museum of Art\, 4333 E. Silver Springs Blvd.\, Ocala\, and at 7 p.m. at the College of Central Florida\, 3001 S.W. College Road\, Building 8\, Room 110\, unless otherwise noted. Films at the Ocala Campus are free and open to the public. Films at the Appleton are free to all museum and film series members; nonmembers pay museum admission. Films may contain mature content. \nAbout the Film\n \n“A Hard Day’s Night” (G\, UK\, 1964\, 1 hour\, 27 minutes) \nJust one month after they exploded onto the U.S. scene with their Ed Sullivan Show appearance\, John\, Paul\, George\, and Ringo began working on a project that would bring their revolutionary talent to the big screen.
