He was also assistant producer on the documentary A League of Their Own\, a film about his mother\, which was turned into a feature film starring Tom Hanks and Geena Davis. He has written three books and three albums of his own music. DESCRIPTION:The College of Central Florida Webber Gallery presents “The Gap Between Art and Life Biennial Exhibition” Sept. 2-Oct. 6. This biannual competitive exhibition will display jury panel selected installation art. Out of 97 submissions\, eight various artworks by artists from across the southeastern United States were chosen for this exhibition.  \nThe chosen installations will allow visitors to interact with the gallery space in new and unique ways. The jury panel consisted of Leslie Hammond\, president of Artistic Eye Fine Art Services\, and Victoria Billig\, assistant director of the Appleton Museum of Art. \nGallery hours are Monday through Thursday\, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The gallery is closed Fridays\, Saturdays\, Sundays and college observed holidays. SUMMARY:CF Theatre Presents "Beware the House on Haunted Hill!"
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a night of spooky fun! \nBased on the 1959 campy whodunit starring Vincent Price\, the play\, “Beware the House on Haunted Hill!”\, brings together six guests who vie for a mysterious prize from an eccentric millionaire if they can survive the night in the world’s most haunted house. \nPerformances are scheduled from Thursday\, Oct. 23\, through Sunday\, Oct. 26. Thursday\, Friday and Saturday shows will be held at 7:30 p.m. and the Sunday show will start at 3 p.m. All shows will take place at the Dassance Fine Arts Center on the Ocala Campus. Tickets are $12 for adults\, $6 for non-CF students\, and free for all CF students\, faculty and staff with valid CF I.D. DESCRIPTION:The community is invited to explore the “There’s Nothin’ to do in Slowcala!?”\, a solo exhibition featuring the work of Ocala photographer Tommy Cuevas\, at the Webber Gallery on view 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday\, Oct. 27\, – Thursday\, Dec. 11.  \nOnce known by the tongue-in-cheek nickname “Slowcala\,” Ocala has often carried the reputation of being a sleepy town with little to do. Cuevas’ photography flips that perception on its head. His images capture the everyday vibrancy\, humor\, and hidden beauty of a community alive with activity. DESCRIPTION:The College of Central Florida’s Ira Holmes International Film Series presents a full season of films\, film talks and special events. \nAll films will be shown Tuesdays at 2 p.m. at the Appleton Museum of Art\, 4333 E. Silver Springs Blvd.\, Ocala\, and at 7 p.m. at the College of Central Florida\, 3001 S.W. College Road\, Building 8\, Room 110\, unless otherwise noted. Films at the Ocala Campus are free and open to the public. Films at the Appleton are free to all museum and film series members; nonmembers pay museum admission. Films may contain mature content. \nAbout the Film\n \n“Drive My Car”(NR\, Japan\, 2021\, 2 hours\, 59 minutes) \nThis haunting road move follows a renowned stage actor and director traveling a path of love\, loss\, acceptance and peace after his wife’s death – chauffeured by a young woman who helps him face the haunting mysteries his wife left behind.
