SUMMARY:"Selections from the Permanent Collection” Art Exhibit
DESCRIPTION:“Selections from the Permanent Collection\,” is a small preview of the hundreds of works in the college’s public art collection. This exhibition is composed of works from local and national artists\, as well as alumni. The exhibition will be at the College of Central Florida Webber Gallery\, with the artwork being on view through Tuesday\, March 11. An opening reception will be held on Feb. 23\, at 12:30 p.m. This event is open to the public. \nPertaining to this show\, Associate Professor Tyrus Clutter says: “This exhibit allows viewers to see various pieces together at one time before they are disseminated and installed in various locations throughout CF’s many campuses later this year.” Staff members from different offices and buildings associated with the College of Central Florida are encouraged to come to the show for the chance to select new artwork for their office spaces. The Feb. 23 Opening Reception will provide a great opportunity for staff members to come and personally reserve any artwork they would like for their building spaces. \nAdmission to the Webber Gallery is free\, with opening hours being from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday. “Selections from the Permanent Collection\,” will be up for view from Wednesday\, February 16\, through Thursday\, March 11\, 2022. For additional information\, call 352-854-2322\, ext. 1664.

Del first worked in a film exhibition\, establishing American Multi-Cinema as a major theater chain in the Southeast\, before teaching. DESCRIPTION:Public Art is popping up everywhere. Cities are using it to create more community friendly growth. Business communities are behind it as a way to drive tourism. Artists are supporting the industry as a mechanism to grow the local arts ecosystem. \nCome join CF to learn more about public art at a free forum on Monday\, March 7\, from 12:30-2 p.m. at the CF Citrus Campus Charles S. Dean Sr. Educational Center\, 3800 S. Lecanto Highway\, Lecanto. Professor Carla Poindexter teaches intermediate and advanced painting\, advanced drawing\, and foundations design at UCF. She also teaches various classes in upper level experimental book arts\, studio concentration\, and seminars in SVAD’s Studio Art MFA program. DESCRIPTION:Let the College of Central Florida’s Vocal Department guide you through a musical journey through the ages and about the globe with an evening of Solos and Choral Music. The concert will be conducted by Dr. Jason Longtin one of our very own Visual & Performing Arts Faculty members and Dr. John Lowe will be the collaborative pianist for the night. A short recital at the beginning of the concert will feature vocal soloists from the CF Patriot Singers themselves. We are also pleased to welcome guest artists Marina Tucker on violin and Sydney Keller on percussion to add to our lovely evening of music. \nLocation: Ocala Campus\, Charles R. DESCRIPTION:The Visual Artists’ Society presents “Summer Spotlight XXV” with Town and Country as the theme\, at the College of Central Florida Webber Center Gallery May 16-July 28. This biannual exhibit will display the talent and imagination of many local artists belonging to the Visual Artists’ Society. This exhibition will display a variety of styles and mediums\, including traditional paintings\, photographs\, 3-D objects\, and digital media. \nThe exhibition will be judged by Ronda Richley who has 50 years of art experience as an educator and various art business ownerships from coast to coast. She received her Master of Studio Art degree from the University of California. Her art work has been on display in Barcelona\, the UK\, Art Basel Miami\, New York\, Zurich and Los Angeles. She has judged both student and professional art exhibits. Horse Fever 2021 introduced her to Ocala where she has recently moved. Her horse Sunny Daze can be found at the College of Central Florida Vintage Farm. \nSummer gallery hours are Monday through Thursday\, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The gallery is closed Fridays\, Saturdays\, Sundays and college observed holidays. On view Aug. 8-Sept. 22.\, this exhibition will present a celebration and examination of contemporary printmaking through traditional printmaking by artists from across the United States. \nPurchase awards totaling a minimum of $2\,500 will be made through local organizations\, with some works entering the college’s permanent collections. Five cash prizes will be awarded based on the selections of juror Janet Ballweg. She is a professor of art and head of printmaking at Bowling Green State University in Ohio and is active in several national print alliances and councils. Ballweg’s work has been exhibited in more than 500 shows and has won dozens of awards. Her selection for first place will receive $500\, second place will receive $300\, third place will receive $100\, and two honorable mentions will receive $50. CAMPUS USA is a proud partner of the College of Central Florida and has generously funded the prizes. \nAwards and prizes will be presented at the opening reception on Friday\, Aug. 19\, 5-7 p.m. \nThe Webber Gallery is located at the CF Ocala Campus\, 3001 S.W.
