DESCRIPTION:During the week of Earth Day 2021\, Gulf Archaeology Research Institute (GARI) researchers will give a Zoom presentation highlighting the importance of and connections between our shared natural and cultural resources stretching from pre-history to the present. After a brief review of GARI’s mission\, purpose\, and reach\, they will review research project results at sites in Citrus\, Marion\, Levy\, and Hernando counties and the increasing peril of disintegration of local landscapes and what can be done about it. Time for questions and answers to follow this 1 hour session in Zoom\, Wednesday April 21st\, 12:30 p.m. Open college-wide to students\, faculty\, and staff interested in history\, ancient cultures\, archeology\, anthropology\, and the environmental sciences.
