DESCRIPTION:Public Art is popping up everywhere. Cities are using it to create more community friendly growth. Business communities are behind it as a way to drive tourism. Artists are supporting the industry as a mechanism to grow the local arts ecosystem. \nCome join CF to learn more about public art at a free forum on Monday\, March 7\, from 12:30-2 p.m. at the CF Citrus Campus Charles S. Dean Sr. Educational Center\, 3800 S. Lecanto Highway\, Lecanto. The forum is free and open to the community with a light lunch provided. \nIn this panel discussion\, three Florida public art professionals will explain what public art is\, why it is important and why it is created\, providing in-depth information on the types of public art\, how it creates better communities\, technical aspects and how artists can get involved. \nPanelists include Oaklianna Caraballo\, the Art in State Buildings Administrator for the University of Florida and Vice President of the Florida Association of Public Art Professionals; Cecilia Lueza\, Studio and Public Artist since 2000 who has worked on projects from sculpture to monumental installations and street murals; and Pamela Zeljak\, Associate Principal at Manifold Creative Concepts and the Founder and Principle of Creative Icon Arts\, with wide variety of public art and creative placement projects accomplished\, she is committed to making a difference in every community she touches by creating opportunities for economic growth\, civic engagement\, and increased public health. \nFor more details about CF events\, visit CF.edu.
