SUMMARY:2022 Best of the Season Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:The Webber Gallery presents the “2022 Best of the Season” Exhibition\, a collection of work from artists across Central Florida. Submissions will be juried by judge Ginger Sheridan\, who will determine what artwork is accepted into the show and award Best in Show\, First Place\, Second Place\, Third Place\, Fourth Place and Honorable Mentions. Awards and prizes will be presented at the opening reception. \nThe exhibition will open on Monday\, Nov. 7\, and be on view through Thursday\, Dec. 8. The community is invited to a free opening reception on Friday\, Nov. 18 from 5-7 p.m. \nThe Webber Gallery is located at the CF Ocala Campus\, 3001 S.W. College Road. Themes of humor and perseverance will take center stage in this year’s 11 films selected from around the globe. \nAll films will be shown Tuesdays at 2 p.m. at the Appleton Museum of Art\, 4333 E. Silver Springs Blvd.\, Ocala\, and at 7 p.m. at the College of Central Florida\, 3001 S.W. College Road\, Building 8\, Room 110\, unless otherwise noted. Films at the Ocala Campus are free and open to the public. Films at the Appleton are free to all museum and film series members; nonmembers pay museum admission. Films may contain mature content. \n\nAbout the Film\n \n“Breaking Bread”(NR\, Israel/USA\, 2019\, 85 min.) \n“Breaking Bread” is much more than a documentary. A treat for the senses\, this film explores Israel’s groundbreaking A-Sham Festival\, which puts Arab and Jewish chefs side by side to create mouthwatering dishes and foster social change. DESCRIPTION:This event has been postponed from Nov. 10 to Nov. 15. \nThe  CF Wind Symphony and the CF Patriot Singers will present “Water” at 7:30 p.m. at the Ocala Campus\, Dassance Fine Arts Center on Thursday\, Nov. 15. This collaboration includes musical selections that celebrates our connection to water – from the Mississippi River to the bottom of Lake Superior to a home aquarium – which connect the audience to Earth’s most precious element. \n“Water” will feature performances by guest composer Joshua Mazur. The CF Wind Symphony is directed by Ash and the CF Patriot Singers are directed by Dr. Jason Longtin. \nDoors open at 7 p.m. No tickets required. \n
