DESCRIPTION:The College of Central Florida will present “It’s Colored Pencil” in partnership with the Colored Pencil Society of America. Sponsored by CPSA District Chapter 113 in Gainesville\, this Webber Gallery exhibition will showcase fine artwork of all styles and subjects completed in colored pencil. \n“It’s Colored Pencil” will open Monday\, Feb. 13-Thursday\, March 9. A free opening reception will be held on Friday\, Feb. 17\, from 5-7 p.m. The Webber Gallery is located at the CF Ocala Campus\, 3001 S.W. College Road. Themes of humor and perseverance will take center stage in this year’s 11 films selected from around the globe. \nAll films will be shown Tuesdays at 2 p.m. at the Appleton Museum of Art\, 4333 E. Silver Springs Blvd.\, Ocala\, and at 7 p.m. at the College of Central Florida\, 3001 S.W. College Road\, Building 8\, Room 110\, unless otherwise noted. Films at the Ocala Campus are free and open to the public. Films at the Appleton are free to all museum and film series members; nonmembers pay museum admission. Films may contain mature content. \n\nAbout the Film\n \n“Neptune Frost”(NR\, Rwanda/USA\, 2021\, 105 min.) \nThis sci-fi punk musical\, produced by Lin-Manuel Miranda\, is set in the African country of Burundi\, where an intersex runaway and a miner fall in love and form an anti-colonialist computer hacker collective. They find solidarity through a dynamic Afrofuturist vision exploring the states of past and present\, male and female\, and colonized and free.
