SUMMARY:“Good Day Sunshine State” Book Talk
DESCRIPTION:The College of Central Florida’s Ira Holmes International Film Series presents a full season of films\, film talks and special events. \nThis is a book talk with author Bob Kealing\, presented by the CF Department of Humanities and the Ira Holmes International Film Series\, will be held in Building 8\, Room 110. \nKealing is the author of five books on Florida history and culture. In “Good Day Sunshine State: How the Beatles Rocked Florida\,” he chronicles the Beatles’ travels through the potboiler that was 1964 Florida. A six-time Emmy Award-winning retired reporter\, Kealing is a two-time recipient of the Edward R. Murrow Award and is the founder of four Florida Heritage Sites. \nAll films will be shown Tuesdays at 2 p.m. at the Appleton Museum of Art\, 4333 E. Silver Springs Blvd.\, Ocala\, and at 7 p.m. at the College of Central Florida\, 3001 S.W. College Road\, Building 8\, Room 110\, unless otherwise noted. Films at the Ocala Campus are free and open to the public. Films at the Appleton are free to all museum and film series members; nonmembers pay museum admission. Films may contain mature content. \nAbout the Author\n \n\nAbout the Speaker\n\n\nBob Kealing\nAuthor and six-time Emmy-Award winning Retired Reporter\n\n\nBob Kealing is the author of five books on Florida history and culture. He is a six-time Emmy Award-winning retired reporter and two-time recipient of the Edward R Murrow Award. Also a historic preservationist\, Kealing is the founder of Four Florida Heritage Sites\, commemorating Jack Kerouac\, the Allman Brothers Band\, Gram Parsons\, and Lynyrd Skynyrd.
