Information Session for CNA Course May 27 at CF Levy Center

The College of Central Florida Levy Center is accepting applications for the next Certified Nursing Assistant training program. An information session will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, at the CF Levy Center, 114 Rodgers Blvd., Chiefland.
This 120-hour program prepares students to take the Florida CNA exam and to work as a nursing assistant in hospitals, long-term care facilities, outpatient clinics and physician offices. The course consists of classroom instruction as well as lab practice and clinical experience.
Students will complete their mandatory clinical hours at both Haven Hospice and Ayers Nursing Home. It takes approximately six weeks to complete the training.
A high school diploma or GED is required, and prospective candidates must take the Test of Adult Basic Education prior to enrolling in the class. To make an appointment to take the TABE at the Levy Center call 352-493-9533. The cost is $15.
The course fee is $598 and additional expenses include textbook, background screening, health screening, uniform and the state exam. This course is not eligible for federal financial aid including Pell Grant.
