Living in the Environment Labs
The Living in the Environment lab offers students two lab experience options. The first is the traditional lab, where students work on activities on activities in as science lab setting. Students conduct “hands-on” activities involving population growth, ecology, pollution, energy, and water quality.
The second option is an on-line lab. In this lab students conduct activities off campus that focus on their individual impact on the environment. Students determine the amount of pollution if produced from the energy they use; how much water they use and the environmental impact; and develop a recycling program and evaluate the environmental benefits. Students are required to visit local ecosystem, museums, and historical sites.
In both lab settings students are evaluated on lab observations, reporting, problem solving, and critical thinking.
