Geology Labs
The geology lab offers students an opportunity to study the basics of physical geology. Labs are designed to facilitate an understanding of Earth structures and the processes that have produced them. Students will learn to recognize surface erosional and depositional features on aerial photographs and topographic, and to interpret geologic faults and structures on geologic maps and models.
Topics covered include: rock and minerals; geologic time; plate tectonics; volcanoes; weathering and erosion; earthquakes; streams and groundwater; glaciers and deserts, shorelines, faults and geologic structures.
