What is Science?

Science is systematic knowledge about the natural world. Science is also the process by which this body of knowledge is gained and modified.

This process embodies a system of logical thinking and actions to determine natural realities and their underlying mechanisms.

In a broader sense, science helps people comprehend the wonders of the universe. As a CF Science student, you will improve your abilities in:

  • Observation
  • Deductive & Inductive reasoning
  • Experimentation
  • Scientific Literacy
  • Conclusion


Science StudentWhy Study the Sciences?

Science programs at CF help students to prepare for admission to many university and professional programs. Basic pre-professional courses leading to fields such as dentistry, medicine, optometry, pharmacy, veterinary science, various kinds of engineering and many other technical fields are offered by the department. Some of our graduates have gone on to advanced degrees in the pure sciences. Transfer to 4 year institutions and professional schools is generally through the Associate of Arts degree.

The science department also provides the course work required for many Associate of Science programs including those in Environmental Science Technology and many healthcare fields. The department also offers courses of relevance for non-degree seeking students to improve their understanding of science in daily life.

CF Award Winning Science Faculty:

The Science faculty are highly qualified professionals. Seven hold a doctorate in their field. Many have significant work experience in their field outside the academic world. Science faculty include a veterinarian, a medical doctor and a chiropractor.
