Microbiology Labs
Laboratory sessions in microbiology afford a student the opportunity for “hands-on” experiences with microorganisms that will enhance their didactic learning experiences.
Students run experiments in classical microbiology using standard supplies for growing, observing, and identifying microorganisms. These supplies include nutrient media, selective and differential media, and a variety of staining supplies.
The microbiology lab is equipped with:
- Binocular microscopes with 1000X oil immersion capability
- Precision incubators
- Refrigeration equipment
- Growth media
- Staining supplies
Also available in the lab is a video microscopy station that can be used for demonstrations of slides that be can be viewed by the entire lab. The lab is also equipped with numerous prepared slides for student viewing.
