Marie Jo, pianist
Renowned for her graceful interpretation and stylistic versatility, our own Ocala resident-pianist Marie Jo is recognized by the public and her colleagues as a “poet of the keyboard.” Under the guidance of distinguished teachers, Julian Martin, Boris Berman, and Claude Frank, Ms. Jo studied music at Peabody Institute of Music and at Yale University, where she graduated with a Master’s degree in Music.
In addition to being a prize winner at the Chopin Kosciuszko National Competition, Ms. Jo won first place in the Elizabeth Competition, and also received the top prizes in the Bach Festival Competition and in the Westminster Piano Competition.
Ms. Jo currently holds an adjunct faculty position, teaching Piano Performance at Central Florida Community College.
