Placement cut scores are required for all degree seeking, first time in college students as approved by the State Board of Education (F.A.C. Rule 6A-10.0315, College Preparatory Testing, Placement and Instruction, as amended). Depending on the student’s program area of study, acceptable placement tests are the PERT, CPT, ACT, SAT, and TABE. For placement cut scores refer to the CF Catalog.
A new state law, Senate Bill 1720, has made changes to developmental education requirements. All students will have more flexibility and, for some students, college placement testing and developmental education courses are now optional prior to enrolling in college-level courses.
