CF International Film Series: 'Owl And The Sparrow'
(OCALA, Fla.) Jan. 21, 2013 — The College of Central Florida International Film Series will present “Owl and the Sparrow,” a film following the lives of three Vietnamese characters who eventually cross paths.
The film will be shown Tuesday, Jan. 29, at 2 p.m. at the Appleton Museum of Art, College of Central Florida, 4333 E. Silver Springs Blvd., and at 7 p.m. at the CF Ocala Campus in Building 8, Room 110, 3001 S.W. College Road.
At the Appleton, viewers pay museum admission unless they are a museum member or a patron of the CF International Film Series. Series membership is $15 for individuals, $25 for dual membership and includes a bonus film each year. For information about membership, call 352-873-5808. The viewing is free at CF.
In her debut film, writer and director Stephanie Gauger illustrates a week in the separate lives of her characters — a flight attendant, a zoo employee, and a 10-year-old runaway. In the midst of Saigon’s 8 million residents, she utilizes their loneliness to form a unique connection.
The 2007 film is rated PG and runs for 97 minutes. “Owl and the Sparrow” is in Vietnamese and contains English subtitles.
