CF International Film Series Presents Lives of Others

(OCALA, Fla.) Feb. 28, 2012 — The College of Central Florida International Film Series will present "The Lives of Others," a German drama, on Tuesday, March 6.

The film will be shown at 2 p.m. at the Appleton Museum of Art, College of Central Florida, 4333 E. Silver Springs Blvd. and at 7 p.m. at the CF Ocala Campus in Building 8, Room 110, 3001 S.W. College Road.

At the Appleton, viewers pay museum admission unless they are a museum member or a patron of the CF International Film Series. Series membership is $15 for individuals, $25 for dual membership and includes a bonus film each year. For information about membership, call 352-873-5808. The viewing is free at CF.

Released in 2006, "The Lives of Others" follows an agent of the secret police as he becomes engrossed in surveillance of a man and woman in 1984 East Berlin.

The film won the 2006 Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film and was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the 64th Golden Globe Awards. "The Lives of Others" was written and directed by Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck. It stars Ulrich Mühe, Martina Gedeck, Sebastian Koch and Ulrich Tukur. This film is rated R for some sexuality/nudity and is subtitled.
