Martha O'Driscoll-Appleton Film Series Presented Monthly At Appleton Museum
(OCALA, Fla.) April 12, 2012 — The College of Central Florida Theatre for Young Audiences will present “Habia Una Vez: Once Upon a Time,” at the CF Ocala Campus.
Performances will be held Saturday, April 28, at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., in the Black Box Theatre of the Charles R. Dassance Fine Arts Center, 3001 S.W. College Road. The doors open to public 30 minutes before each performance.
“‘Habia Una Vez’ focuses on a young girl named Mari who is struggling with the after effects of her parents’ divorce,” said Sean J. Bliznik, CF instructor and show director. “She explains the absence of her mother, Ana, to her friends through elaborate and imaginative stories that only a child could create by demonstrating that with the imagination anything is possible.”
The production includes shadow puppetry and phrases in both Spanish and English so that the audience can easily follow the story line.
For reservations, call the CF Box Office at 352-873-5810 or visit tickets.cf.edu. Admission is $3 or donation of nonperishable food item (which will be accepted at the door as a donation for a local food bank).
