The film will be shown on Tuesday, Oct. 18, at 2 p.m. at the Appleton Museum of Art, College of Central Florida, 4333 E. Silver Springs Blvd. and at 7 p.m. at the CF Ocala Campus in Building 8, Room 110, 3001 S.W. College Road.

At the Appleton, viewers pay museum admission unless they are a museum member or a patron of the CF International Film Series. Released in 2009, “Mao’s Last Dancer” follows the personal and professional journeys of Cunxin. This film shows his removal from poverty at age 11 to study ballet and the courageous choices he must make to join the Houston Ballet in the United States. It stars Chi Cao, Bruce Greenwood and Kyle MacLachlan. This film is rated PG for a brief violent image, some sensuality, language and incidental smoking.
