CF Film Series Presents 'Journey from Zanskar'

The College of Central Florida International Film Series will present “Journey from Zanskar,” a documentary that follows the plight of 17 children and two monks to save their diminishing Tibetan culture.
The film will be shown on Tuesday, Nov. 15, at 2 p.m. at the Appleton Museum of Art, College of Central Florida, 4333 E. Silver Springs Blvd. and at 7 p.m. at the CF Ocala Campus in Building 8, Room 110, 3001 S.W. College Road.
At the Appleton, viewers pay museum admission unless they are a museum member or a patron of the CF International Film Series. Series membership is $15 for individuals, $25 for dual membership and includes a bonus film each year. For information about membership, call 352-873-5808. The viewing is free at CF.
Released in 2010, “Journey from Zanskar” shows the struggles of Tibetans to keep their culture and traditions alive in the face of economic progress. The 90-minute film stars the Dalai Lama and Lobsang Dhamchoe; it is narrated by Richard Gere and directed by Frederick Marx. It is rated PG.
