Feb. 14, 2013
The College of Central Florida Forensics Team brought home honors from the Florida State College Activities Association state championship tournament. More than 50 students from Florida participated in the tournament, which was held Feb. 7-9 at Florida State College at Jacksonville.
Samantha Ewing won third place in After Dinner Speaking, Kevin Hracs won third place in Persuasive Speaking, and Tawana Waugh won fifth place in Impromptu Speaking. Overall the team placed fourth in team sweepstakes.
“Our students did very well at the state championship tournament," said Jon Schneiderman, team advisor and CF adjunct instructor. “The CF forensics team has been dormant for the past couple of years but we are in the process of rebuilding. We have a nucleus of about eight active students and have traveled to five tournaments this year.”
