Grand Opening of CF Welding Facility Nov. 15

The College of Central Florida will hold a grand opening for its Welding Technology Center at the CF Jack Wilkinson Levy Campus with Sen. Charlie Dean as guest speaker. The grand opening is Thursday, Nov. 15, from 4 to 5 p.m., 7631 N.W. 151st Lane, Chiefland.
The first courses in the Applied Welding Technologies program are currently in session. Previously, CF offered the postsecondary adult vocational courses at its Ocala Campus and Chiefland High School welding facilities.
The new location provides facilities to increase CF’s enrollment from 15 part-time students to a maximum of 45 full-time students per semester. Currently, 12 are enrolled full-time in day classes and 15 are enrolled full-time in evening classes.
Dean serves District 3 which consists of Baker, Dixie, Hamilton, Lafayette, Suwannee, Taylor, and parts of Citrus, Columbia, Jefferson, Leon, Levy, Madison, and Marion counties.
