CF to host poet Ira Sukrungruang

Oct. 30, 2013

The College of Central Florida will host poet Ira Sukrungruang Wednesday, Nov. 6. The reading will take place from 12:30-1:30 p.m. in Building 8, Room 110, at the CF Ocala Campus, 3001 S.W. College Road. There is no fee to attend.

In his first book of poetry “In Thailand It Is Night,” Sukrungruan, a Chicago born Thai-American, heightens readers’ awareness of ecology in both the natural and spiritual worlds. He writes of a world where realities collide, challenging traditional expectations and stretching conventional roles.

An assistant professor of English at the University of South Florida in Tampa, Sukrungruang also authored a memoir, “Talk Thai: The Adventures of Buddhist Boy,” and co-edited “What Are You Looking At? The First Fat Fiction Anthology,” and “Scoot Over, Skinny: The Fat Nonfiction Anthology.”
Following the reading, Sukrungruang will sign books.

For more information, contact Assistant Professor of Communications Gianmarc Manzione at 352-854-2322, ext. 1284, or manziong@cf.edu.
