CF Student Activities Boards Bring Home State Honors

The Student Activities Boards of College of Central Florida were recognized at the Florida College System Student Government Association Spring Conference, April 4-6, in St. Petersburg.
FCSSGA represents the nearly one million students enrolled in the Florida College System’s 28 colleges. The organization promotes legislative advocacy and training, leadership development, service learning, promotion of campus activities and strong citizenship.
Ocala Campus SAB received first place in the Electronic Scrapbook Competition for the third consecutive year; third place for Exemplary Practice Display for a mock DUI event; and the District 3 Humanitarian Award. Rod McGinnes won the Bob Graham Distinguished Service Award for a College Faculty/Staff member for his support of the mock DUI program. Jason Dodge was recognized for his role as the coordinator of the Leadership Certification program. Marjorie McGee was recognized for her role as FCSSGA state advisor for 2011-2102.
The Citrus Campus SAB received third place in the Electronic Scrapbook Competition. Citrus Campus representatives Cayla Hans, Derek Portwood and Laury Leiva were recognized for their service on the FCSSGA District 3 Executive Board for 2011-2012.
