The College of Central Florida will travel to Spain in summer 2014 to explore the artistic, historic and cultural foundations of Western man.
The opportunity is open to high school students, college students and adults. Dual enrollment students and teachers needing re-certification credits are also welcome. Applicants registering by Dec. 15 will receive registration discounts.
Travelers have several options. A two-week program, July 2-16, costs $3,395 and includes airfare, health and accident insurance, lodging in a student dormitory in Madrid with three meals a day in the dormitory dining room, and four city tours to Madrid, Toledo, Segovia and El Escorial.
A four-week program, July 2-29, costs $4,195 and includes airfare, insurance, lodging and meals, as well as a three-day stay in Paris.
A six-week program, June 16 through July 29, costs $5,995 and adds the two-week stay in Costa del Sol, Spain, to the four-week program.
Dr. Orlando Moreno, CF professor emeritus of Spanish language and culture, will lead the programs.
All participants must enroll as CF credit or audit students, with new students paying a one-time $30 application fee. Spanish language courses are offered at all levels. Additional courses in Spanish Culture and Civilization and Spanish Art History are taught in English. The fee for the courses is $105.10 per credit hour.
The deadline for enrolling in the travel programs is May 1, 2014.
Sightseeing, lectures, museum visits, seminars and presentations by American and European professors will enhance the learning experience. Optional excursions are available to Toledo, Segovia, El Escorial, Barcelona and Lisbon.
