Fundamentals of Applied Mathematics (3)
Prerequisite: MAT 1033 or a CLM score of at least 40
A survey of mathematical topics will include technical problem solving, set theory, logic, number theory, application of functions, modular arithmetic, graph theory, the mathematics of finance, and the application of statistical methods to process and quality control. Thus, a primary objective of the course is an emphasis on decision making when addressing technical issues that is based on skills and knowledge acquired in this and related courses. The course is also suitable for those students that require additional skills development before enrolling in precalculus or other mathematics courses required in their field of study.
