Business and Organizational Management - Human Resources Management Specialization, B.A.S.

The Bachelor of Applied Science, B.A.S., in Business and Organizational Management program is designed to prepare students to become effective leaders in organizations and society. Specializations in Accounting, Agribusiness Management, Equine Studies, Human Resources Management, Management Information Systems, Health Care Management, Human Resources Management, Public Safety Administration and Logistics and Supply Chain Management will prepare graduates for administrative/managerial positions in agriculture, business, information technology, equine, health services, human resources, logistics, government, criminal justice, fire services and other organizations.

Students accepted for these programs must have completed either an Associate in Arts, Associate in Science or Associate in Applied Science degree in an appropriate field, and have a minimum  GPA of 2.0. A minimum of 60 credits from the student’s associate degree will count toward completion of the program. Additional General Education and/or technical specialization courses may be required. Students should work closely with their advisor to ensure that all program requirements are met.

B109: Bachelor of Applied Science in Business and Organizational Management - Human Resources Management Specialization

The Human Resource Management Specialization prepares students to work in the ever-growing field of human resource professionals, including HR generalists, compensation and benefits analysts, trainers, HR business partners, succession planners, and corporate recruiters.

A grade of C or better is required in all technical, program core and program specialization courses, and all courses used to satisfy the Gordon Rule requirement. Students transferring into baccalaureate programs with an A.A. degree or higher do not need to meet our General Education requirements with the exception of college level English and Gordon Rule math. These students must have successfully completed, with a grade of C or better, at least one college level English and one Gordon Rule math course. General Education courses must total 36 credits. The A.A. or higher degree must be from an accredited institution but can be public, private and/or out of state. Additional coursework may be required for students transferring into B.A.S. programs with an A.S. or A.A.S. degree.

Note: Courses in this section will be comprised of Required Technical Specialization courses and/or General Education courses needed to fulfill the requirements of the program. Actual coursework required will vary based on the student’s associatelevel coursework. Students will work with their advisor to choose the necessary coursework for their program. A total of 21 credit hours is required.
