News Release
High school students and adults who are interested in a career in health sciences are invited to attend the Health Sciences Open House from 3 to 5 p.m. on Nov. 5 in Buildings 16 and 19 on the Ocala Campus. Attendees should start their visit at the Check-In tent between the two buildings.
“If you or your student have been thinking about going into healthcare, this event is a great opportunity to meet with professionals in these programs face-to-face and get questions answered,” said Peggy Recanzone, health sciences recruiter/outreach specialist. “This event is open to everyone, including those with no experience in the health field, along with those looking to switch up their career.”
Attendees can meet faculty, staff and current students to learn more about the programs and the College of Central Florida. Staff will be on hand to help people apply for admission and financial aid. There will also be tours of classrooms, health sciences labs and the AdventHealth Center for Nursing, with demonstrations and opportunities to do hands-on lab activities.
Featured programs include:
• Dental Assisting
• Dental Hygiene
• Emergency Medical Services (EMS A.S., EMT, Paramedic and Critical Care Transport)
• Nursing Programs (ADN, LPN to ADN, Paramedic to ADN, and RN to BSN)
CF offers several other Health Sciences programs such as Cardiovascular Technology, Diagnostic Medical Sonography Technology, Fire Science Technology, Physical Therapist Assistant, Radiography, Respiratory Care and Surgical Services.
“People who are interested in one of our other Health Sciences programs, even if they’re not featured at this event, can still come talk to us about admissions and financial aid and other questions,” Recanzone said. “This is still a good opportunity for them.”
An RSVP to this event is encouraged but not required. To RSVP, visit CF.edu/HealthOpenHouse. This event is sponsored by Campus USA Credit Union.
