Admissions

How to Apply

We’re glad you’ve decided to be a part of our family at the College of Central Florida! Below, you’ll find instructions on CF’s five-step admissions process.

Step 1:

Fill Out the Online Application

The admissions application takes around 15 minutes to complete. Be prepared to indicate your desired program of study, degree type and primary campus.

Go to application

Step 2:

Pay the Application Fee

At the end of the application, there is a one-time nonrefundable $30 application fee. This fee is for all applicants, with the exception of high school students applying for dual enrollment. You can pay online at the time of applying or you may pay later by mail with a check or money order made out to the College of Central Florida.

Step 3:

Submit Any Needed Documents

Depending on your application, there are several types of documents you may need to submit to finalize your application. Documents can be scanned and emailed to admissions@CF.edu or dropped off at one of our campus locations.

Your list of documents required for admissions is accessible in your MyCF Student Portal after you submit your application. To view the list, go to MyCF.CF.edu and log in using your CF ID number and the password you created when you submitted your application. Then click on the Admissions Status tab.

Commonly Needed Documents:

Florida or Non-Florida Residency Declaration Form

Florida residents receive a lower tuition rate than nonresidents. You will need to complete a form declaring your state of residence. If a Florida resident, you will need to provide supporting documentation such as a Florida driver’s license, Florida voter’s ID card, or Florida vehicle registration. The Residency Declaration form is available on your MyCF Student Portal under the Admissions Status tab.

High School Transcripts or GED

Send your final and official high school transcripts, or official GED transcript, to CF.

Your high school transcripts must include your graduation date to be considered final. If you are currently in 12th grade, request your transcripts be sent after you have officially graduated. Transcripts sent before your graduation date will be “In Progress” and will not be final.

Transcripts must be sent in the sealed, unopened envelope from your high school administration office. If you pick up your transcripts, do not open the envelope yourself. You may also request your high school send the transcripts electronically to CF.

If you have foreign credentials, information for ordering your high school or post-secondary transcripts can be found on our International page.

GED: Students must submit their official General Educational Development score report. Florida GED students can request an official copy online and have it sent directly to CF.

Placement Test Scores

Placement test scores are used to determine if preparatory courses are recommended for your academic pathway. You can request your SAT scores from www.Collegeboard.com and ACT scores from www.ACT.org. If you have not taken the SAT or ACT, you can take the PERT at one of the CF campus locations. PERT tests can be scheduled through our Testing and Assessment department.

After you have submitted all required documents as indicated on your MyCF Student Portal, the CF Admissions team will be able to finalize your application. Accepted students will receive a congratulations email welcoming them to CF and providing instructions on next steps for orientation and class registration.

Step 4:

Complete Orientation

CF offers an orientation to familiarize you with CF’s student services and walk you through the registration process. Once you are accepted to CF, check your MyCF Student Portal for either an Orientation or Start Smart tab to find instructions about completing your student orientation.

Step 5:

Register for Classes

Once you have completed orientation, you will be eligible to register for classes! You can select your classes within your MyCF Student Portal on the Enrollment tab. Check with your advisor and review your academic pathway prior to registration to ensure you’re registering for the correct courses to match your chosen degree.

Don’t forget! You have 10 days to pay for your classes after registration until the first day of class. After that, you have 24 hours to pay for any new registration. CF offers a tuition installment plan to help students afford their education.

At this time, you should go to the Patriots Mail tab in your MyCF Student Portal to register your free CF student email account. Check your Patriots Mail frequently to ensure you’re informed about advisor meetings, tuition payments and more.

After completing these five steps, you’ll officially be a CF student! We look forward to seeing you in class. If you have any questions about the admissions process, please contact us.
