About
The Associate in Science in Paralegal Studies is designed to prepare individuals for employment in law related areas. While paralegals typically are found in law firms, they also are utilized by government agencies, insurance companies, bank trust departments, corporations, and the court system.
The program courses, taught by attorneys, provide students with a solid foundation in procedural and substantive areas of law including research, drafting legal documents, interviewing clients and witnesses, investigating, and communicating. The program also provides eligible students with the necessary skills the students need to take the Certified Legal Assistant/Certified Paralegal Examination offered by the National Association of Legal Assistants. Additionally, the A.S. in Paralegal Studies prepares students to transfer to a four-year program.
