Did you know there were laws passed to forbid theatrical productions in colonial times? Learn more about these “extravagant diversions” at “Theatre in the Colonial Period” on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 12:30-1:30 p.m. in the Webber Center. Nonalee Davis, assistant professor of theatre, will examine American theatre in the 17th and 18th centuries.
The Patriot Project takes a deep dive into the history of the 17th and 18th centuries, expanding on the new state civics initiative to invite students, staff and the community to a monthly lecture series. Lectures are free and open to the public and light refreshments and event giveaways are provided.
The Patriot Project was developed by Dr. Sarah Satterfield, CF professor of music, with funding provided through a CF Foundation New Initiative Grant.
