About

This certificate prepares students for employment as GIS Technicians, Surveying and Mapping Technicians, Cartographic Technicians and a variety of other specialist positions in the GIS field.

The curriculum equips students with the skills to collect, manage, and analyze geographic data using tools like ArcGIS. They will gain experience in spatial analysis, coordinate systems, remote sensing, and digital map creation. Plus, students will walk away knowing how to create and maintain spatial databases, interpret satellite imagery and apply GIS to real-world scenarios in planning, environment and infrastructure.

The program will also prepare students to sit for the MOS Excel, AutoCAD and ArcGIS Pro Foundation certifications.
