About
The Medical Information Coder/Biller program is a College Credit Certificate program designed to prepare students for entry-level employment with skills in reviewing health care documentation and properly assigning ICD-10 and/or CPT codes.
In this program, special emphasis is given to training in health record fundamentals, medical terminology, disease processes, coding principles, coding software and a coding practicum. Graduates are eligible through American Health Information Management Association to receive designated coding specialist certifications.
Graduates are employed in various health care settings, including physician practices, clinics, and home health agencies, independent coding services and insurance companies.
