Learning Support/Tutoring

The Learning Support Centers offer you a place on each campus and online where you can strengthen your academic skills, learn studying and test-taking skills and receive personalized tutoring, all designed to increase your opportunities for success.

All Learning Support Centers give CF students access to computers, printers, Wi-Fi and charging stations. CF offers tutoring in a variety of venues and areas of study. Whether it’s math, writing, anatomy or more, our tutoring centers offer flexible schedules to meet your needs. Email tutoring@cf.edu for more information.

What Would You Like Assistance With?

Anatomy / Physiology

Anatomy and Physiology proves to be a challenging course for many students. Here in the Learning Support Center, we have dedicated space, detailed models and specialized tutors to help with this important subject. The open anatomy and physiology lab at the Ocala Campus is available to students any time the Learning Resources Center is open. Students can call the LSC to schedule an appointment or just drop in to study using any of the dozens of anatomical models available.

English Composition

Each Learning Support Center is able to guide CF students in the writing and learning process, to foster an appreciation for writing and to help eliminate the fear of writing. Over time, you will gradually come to rely less on tutor instruction and more on your own abilities as you learn the proper usage of the English language.

Tutors are available to assist with assignments for courses, such as ENC1101 and ENC1102, as well as general grammar and composition. Tutoring is available on a walk-in basis during open hours, or you can schedule an appointment.

Mathematics

The CF Mathematics Department established the Math Lab to provide students with the opportunity to improve their mathematics skills as well as access to technology. Mathematics courses are required for the majority of programs offered at CF. Good math and computer skills are a necessity in higher education as well as many occupations. The Math Lab is committed to promoting and nurturing these skills.

We provide:

  • Free assistance with math-related questions
  • Free drop-in tutoring to help you improve your math skills
  • Access to technology
  • Use of computers, including many tutoring and testing programs
  • Reference materials such as solution manuals and textbooks

General Tutoring

Nearly every student finds at least one required subject challenging. For this reason, CF strives to maintain a robust tutoring program covering as many of the subjects offered here as possible. Our tutors are hired through recommendations from college faculty and are prepared with a nationally recognized training program.

Engaging with a tutor can help you in areas you might be unsure of, even if you aren’t failing a course. The earlier in the semester you come in, the more we can help, so give us a call and make an appointment today.

Online Resources

CF students can receive free tutoring online through Tutor.com, a live tutoring platform that is available 24 hours, 7 days per week. You can access Tutor.com through Canvas.

Plato Courseware is an interactive tutorial program also available to CF students for free.
