To enter the accounting profession, a foundation in basic accounting principles is needed. A basic knowledge of procedures and theories of organizing, analyzing and recording business financial transactions is required in order to prepare financial records and reports.
Entry level professionals need to be critical thinkers with an eye for detail and an appreciation of the process including checks and balances. Knowledge of software is required for success in the industry.
The purpose of this program is to prepare students for employment in entry level accounting positions. Program content prepares students in the principles, procedures and theories of organizing, recording and maintaining financial records.
This program can be completed in less than one year if students attend classes on a full-time basis. Four of the six courses can be completed online.
