Dental Hygiene, A.S.

About

The Dental Hygiene program is designed to train individuals to perform as efficient dental professionals in the dental health environment. Dental hygienists are preventive oral health professionals licensed to provide educational, clinical, research, administrative and therapeutic services supporting total health through the promotion of optimum oral health.

Upon completion of this program, students are eligible to sit for the National Dental Hygiene Board examination and the state clinical examination to receive licensure. To become a dental hygienist in Florida, you must meet the Requirements of the Florida Board of Dentistry and this program prepares students to meet those requirements.

An accreditation application for the A.S. Dental Hygiene program has been submitted. Applications for the Dental Hygiene program will be accepted after initial accreditation status has been granted. The accreditation visit has been scheduled for April 2023. We are poised to admit our first class in Fall 2023.
