About

The College of Central Florida has launched the first Precision Agriculture Technology program in Florida. The goal of the program is to prepare students for high-demand careers at the intersection of agriculture, technology and data science. This hands-on program focuses on modern agricultural systems that use GPS guidance, drones, sensors, automation and data analytics to improve productivity, efficiency and sustainability.

Students will learn core technical skills including drone operation, GPS guidance systems, agricultural equipment technology, irrigation monitoring, GIS mapping, sensor-based crop monitoring and agricultural data analysis. Instruction emphasizes real-world applications through field labs and applied projects conducted at the College of Central Florida’s Center for Agricultural Innovation at Vintage Farm.

This program is unique in its applied, workforce-focused approach and integration with industry-standard equipment and technologies. Graduates will be prepared to enter the workforce in technical roles or continue their education in agricultural engineering, agribusiness or related fields.

Graduates of the program will be able to:

  • Operate and configure precision agriculture equipment safely and effectively
  • Collect and interpret agricultural field data using modern technologies
  • Utilize GPS, GIS, and drone technologies in agricultural applications
  • Apply technical knowledge to improve agricultural productivity and efficiency
  • Diagnose and support agricultural technology systems
  • Communicate technical information effectively in agricultural settings
  • Enroll in CF Bachelor of Applied Science in Business and Organizational Management, Agribusiness Management program
